Appalachian Power Park is an affordable attraction in the Charleston area. Power Park offers many family friendly events such as family fun night, free firework Fridays, kids fun zone (which includes several Jupiter Jump, slides, and blow ups), kids clubs, and much more. The West Virginia Clay Center was designed to inspire creativity, learning and wonder through experiences in the Arts and Sciences. It was designed for all people of West Virginia and the regions surrounding. The Clay Center offers many children’s programs, camps, and clubs. The West Virginia State Museum features a central show path, 26 discovery rooms and two connection rooms. Each room represents a part of West Virginia’s history. Magic Island, along the Kanawha Boulevard is a common place for the city of Charleston to host kids’ events. Free family movie night is offered every Wednesday during the summer at Magic Island. At this point the schedule has not been released for the 2011 season, please stay tuned for updates.
